The usefulness of the shortcut icon on the desktop that can help us in running/ open an application, so to open the application does not need to open the start menu. 1. Example we will create a shortcut calculator like the example above, the trick is you open the start menu : Start> All Programs > Accessories > Calculator > Right Click select Send to > Desktop (create shortcut). It will automatically appear on the desktop calculator icon.
2. If the application that we will create a shortcut icon is not in the start menu, how to create a shortcut that is done manually. For example, want to create a shortcut icon SmadAV Antivirus, making steps are:
a. Right click on your desktop, then select New > Shortcut.
b. It would appear the Create Shortcut dialog box, click bbrowse select the C drive and then locate the directory that holds the file smadav antivirus.
c. The next step extensinya select the files *.exe (executable file) that is: SMARTP, then click the OK button.
d. It will appear the following dialog box :
Click Next.
e. Then click Finish it will appear on the desktop shortcut.
3. If you want to create the shortcut key icon do the following :
For example, create a shortcut key calculator.
- Right click on the calculator icon on the desktop and then click properties.
- It will display a dialog box like the following:
- In the field Shortcut key, precisely in the textbox " None", press " Alt " (on keyboards, computer) then it says " None" will be the " Ctrl + Alt + ", press the C (can use the other buttons) then it would be like this:
- Then click Apply, and then click OK.
- Now that you have successfully created a shortcut key calculator, if you want to run the calculator simply press Ctrl + Alt + C (without the +) simultaneously.
If you want to make shourcut key to another application you can use a combination of other letters (Ctr + Alt + " in addition to C ").
