If your computer/ laptop experience long shutdown process you will definitely feel annoyed because waiting for the computer/ laptop is not dead-dead. Therefore, I will share tips for windows 7 shutdown process is not slow.
Here is how to speed up the shutdown process on a Windows 7 operating system:
1. Changing the settings in the Registry
- HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control
Open the Registry Editor: I click start then type Regedit press enter on the keyboard.

If it is open then headed: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ urrentControlSet\Control WaitToKillServiceTimeout find the line after the change in value from 12000 to 2000.

- HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop
Then headed to the HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ Control Panel\Desktop search WaitToKillAppTimeout line, if not found, you can make your own in a way: right click then New, String Value, and name WaitToKillAppTimeout.

Fill in the data value with a value of 2000.'s Word AutoEndTasks to give the value data to 1. When finished, you close the Registry Editor.
2. Creating ShortCut.
